Gundam is one of the classic series of anime featuring a war with mechas. Gundam is term for the Universal Century (UC) series and the Alternative Universe (AU), such as Gundam Seed Destiny, made by Sunrise Inc. The name "Gundam" is from  common giant robot naming conventions during the 1970s.
