Hmm… well… I think that almost every character in that anime has some kinda mental issue and has problems… but aside from that its a good series =]
gundam see, however, will always be my fave of the gundam series…
closely followed by seed destiny and wing…
and then 00 and then X….. =]

Oh, the English is confusing me, since it says in Japanese as “機動戦士ガンダム” Kido Senshi Gun-da-mu Daburu (that is, Double) O.

have the same feeling about Gundam Seeds as you do, buddy. It is…well…you know, and I know as well. Cough* cough*
Okay, the opening is sang by Hyde from L’arc en Ciel, woah, I’m a Hyde fan, I didn’t know this until like, 5 seconds ago, sounds cool.
The art does look differentiated!! Their design of robots are pretty DIFFERENT, yes, indeed, a total departture from the older series, and for God’s sake, not SEEDS. Have to check it out, hey, it really looks GOOD…..(just come out like…2007!!)

Atcually, I’m just starting Mobile Suit Gundam 00. It’s because my guy friend kept recommending it to me, and said it was the best. I’m not trying to copy your answer, but he really said that. Unless you are my friend.. O.o Nah, that’s impossible. I should get back at it after I finished my Sports Anime Month, so next month should be Meccha Anime Month. (off topic, sorry)
I love Gundam Seed, but I won’t attack you. I think you should give it another try.
